![]() Keep up the nice site and I also look forward to reading Joe’s book “Take Risks.” I will also be looking for a book/site (any recommendations?) on how best to stay connected with the internet/cloud via wi-fi or smartphone connection as I will use the van for a mobile office during the day. The Mammoth name fits because this camper is big, really big. The largest, most luxurious camper on this list, the Host Mammoth 11.6 is also Host Industries’ best-selling camper. So, my question: outside of Sportsmobile, is any other company able to a) alter their options to include a cassette or portable potty instead of a marine toilet (I’ll always be in urban areas) b) swap out the propane for all electric and c) address how to deal with the issue of the fresh water tank freezing during the winter? Seems like Sportsmobile is my one and only choice (they can do all three)? So without further adieu, Truck Camper Adventure is proud to present the 12 best pickup truck campers for sale in 2021. I’d appreciate feedback if I missed an established company here that also has reasonable pricing. Ok, I have a narrow perspective here since I am looking for a) an established, experienced, reputable company with a warranty b) reasonable pricing with functionality over luxury c) a product with options d) something I can use during the winter as needed (freezing but not sub-zero) and e) STEALTH (nothing boxy or RV-ish, no wild paint swoops, and less than 20 feet).Īs I see it, that narrows the field to Pleasure-Way, Hymer (Roadtrek/Hymer/Carado), Sportsmobile and maybe Winnebago (the aforementioned paint swoops on their “Revel” is an issue). Del Mar Pop Top: Ford T-350 Jeep Camper: Jeep Sahara JL 4 Door. Hey, thanks for the comprehensive list and also for your vlog efforts that have been very helpful in sending me down the path of using a Class B for a combo business office and mobile tiny home on wheels – I appreciate your time and efforts and letting others benefit from your experiences (blazing the trail). ![]() That said, we’ve seen a significant difference in the level of quality in many custom vans that you don’t see in a production level unit. Now that said, there are certainly some companies who are charging a premium because of their name and/or the fact that they’re so oversold that customers have to wait a year or more to get their van. On top of that, companies need to cover all their expenses, payroll, etc and then turn a profit. For example, we’ve seen some companies use much more expensive types of insulation or wool to help minimize the effects of condensation. The types of materials used also play into the price. Heater, AC, solar, etc all add to the just the parts that go into the van before you think about the time it takes to install everything. If you were to buy this retail, the system would cost somewhere around $40k. For example, Storyteller Overland installs a four module Volta system (12kw batter, 8kw secondary alternator and 3.6kw inverter). With over 40 years of product development and proven success, Four Wheel Campers is the premium pop-up. We’ve done a lot of factory tours and what we’ve learned is that there is a lot more that goes into these builds than just a bed, galley and some cabinets. get cold weather camping with our fall sales event.
